Melvin Coleman begins his first season with the Bulldogs and will serve as Defensive Backs Coach. Coach Coleman is the founder of Stable North Athletics, LCC, a sports performance training business in the Greater Hartford (CT) area working with student-athletes to reach their goals through developing speed, agility, power, strength, technique, quickness and sport specific movement.
Coleman's coaching experience includes Defensive Backs Coach at Suitland (MD) High School (2013), Defensive Coordinator at Manchester (CT) High School (2008-2012) and Assistant Defensive Backs Coach at Towson University (2001-2003).
Coleman was member of the Morgan State University football team and was named Black College All-American (2000), After earning his Bachelor of Science degree in 2001, Coleman went on to play for the Arena Football League's Norfolk Nighthawks (2003) and Chesapeake Tide of the Continental Indoor Football League (2007).
Coach Coleman is married to Tilea Coleman and they have one son Maven.
