Moses Ware is entering his 8th season on the Bowie State Football Staff.   The 2018 season will be his fifth as the Offensive Coordinator/Quarterback coach.  During the 2017 season Coach Ware helped Bowie State finish with a record of 9-2 and secure the teams’ first home playoff game in the history of Bowie State.  Along the way, Bowie State’s offensive was able to establish themselves as the #1 offense in the nation in terms of points per game (54.5) and yards per game (566.5).  Coach Ware also has been instrumental to the success of Amir Hall who finished the 2017 campaign with 8 player of the year awards, with the Doug Williams, Deacon Jones player of the year being 2 of the many awards.

In 2016 he led a unit that finished with an overall record of 7-3, and 6-1 in the Northern Division.  That record helped them secure the 2016 Northern Division Crown and a spot in the 2016 CIAA Championship game. It was Bowie States second championship appearance in a row.    His unit this year averaged 41.7 points per game.  The 41.7 points per game were good for a national ranking of #7 and #1 in the CIAA.  Along the way first-year starter Amir Hall was able to secure the 2016 Offensive Player of the Year.

During the 2015 season the Bowie State football team finished with a record of 9-1 overall and 7-0 in the CIAA.  Coach Ware was a vital reason that Bowie was able to represent the Northern Division in the 2015 championship season.  Despite having to play four different quarterbacks the offense never missed a beat.  Bowie State was able to lead the 2015 campaign in scoring at 38 points a game.

Prior to coaching at Bowie State University, Coach Ware served as the Head Coach at Ballou Sr. High School where he won over 75% of his games.  He had the pleasure of coaching the 2006 U.S. Army Defensive Player of the Year, as well as Larry Pinkard of Old Dominion University.  Larry Pinkard finished as the school’s second All-Time Leading wide receiver.

He made his name as a player at North Carolina Central University from 1991 – 1994 as a wide receiver for the NCCU Eagles.  He left the school as the 5th leading wide receiver in the history of the school.  That was a prelude to him being signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and later playing for the Minnesota Vikings.  When his playing days were over he returned to NCCU to obtain his degree in Criminal Justice.

Coach Ware’s pride and joy are his for beautiful daughters, Olivia (21), Jessica (20), Imara (19) and Rachel (17).
