White, Jr. previously worked at Stevenson University for three seasons in a similar role. During his time at Stevenson, White Jr. coached and mentored several student-athletes to become all-conference performers while being the second ranked pass defense in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC).

Before his stop at Stevenson, White Jr. worked at Bluefield College as the defensive pass game coordinator and safeties. In his first season with the Rams, the defense gave up only eight passing touchdowns and 147 passing yards per game, which both led the entire NAIA. They also finished top-7 in six other categories in both of his season at Bluefield. While at Bluefield College he also served as the co-special teams coordinator as well as the team's recruiting coordinator.

Prior to Bluefield, White Jr. served as the defensive assistant coach at Towson University for the 2016 season. White Jr. started his coaching career the year after his playing career ended at The University of Virginia's College at Wise as the defensive backs coach in 2014.

A native of Baltimore, Md., White Jr. graduated from West Liberty University where he was a three-year student-athlete and a two-year team captain, White Jr. led the team in interceptions as a senior while leading the team in pass break-ups and passes defended in both his junior and senior seasons.

He is the son of Gerard White, Sr a former lettermen and football player at Bowie state who graduated in 1986.
