SHAW DEFEATS BOWIE STATE VOLLEYBALL 3-2 TO END SEASON

(HAMPTON, Va.)  Shaw University extended Bowie State to a five set match before defeating the Lady Bulldogs 3-2 in Pool Play of the CIAA Championships.  Bowie State loss by scores of 16-25, 25-17, 18-25, 25-18 and 13-15 to closeout the season with an overall record of 5-27.

JaTyra Heath
(Middletown, NY, Middletown) and senior Itumeleng Shadreck (Botswana Africa, East Chapel Hill, North Carolina Central) each recording 11 for the Lady Bulldogs.

Shaw was led by Sharetta Riggins with a match-high 15 kills.  Monica Grimmage and Nikita Grant knocked down nine and eight kills respectively for the Lady Bears.
