Corbin, Toney and Enders paced Bowie State in game one with two hits each. Cook, Hockey and junior Kelley Alexander (Damascus, Md., Covenant Life, Montgomery College) accounted for a pair of RBI each. Alexander recorded her second home run of the season with a two-run blast over the center field fence in the first inning of the opener.

Bowie State held a 5-0 advantage through two and added one more in the third after a single to right field, scoring freshman Shanae Smoot (Bel Alton, Md., LaPlata). BSU tacked on two more insurance runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, courtesy of Corbin and Alexander.

Virginia State went down in order in the top half of the fifth, ending the contest via the 8-run mercy rule. Kjirsten Beckstead, the pitcher of record, allowed 10 Bowie State hits, walked three and struck out two in game one.

Enders fanned six, gave up six hits and walked three, improving her record to 7-2.

Following an emotional senior presentation, game two got underway with visiting Virginia State's Kristen Rountree belting a two-run homer to left field scoring Beckstead from first. Beckstead reached on a single to right field.

Bowie State answered with two runs in their half of the first inning. Corbin led off with hard grounder past VSU's Brittany Jones which resulted in double. Alexander grounded out to the pitcher but advance Corbin to third on the play. Smoot hit a hard grounder to the Virginia State shortstop, scoring Corbin. Enders laced a double to left, scoring Smoot to tie things up at 2-2.

After a scoreless second inning, BSU's Alexander led off the third with a triple to right field and later scored along with Toney. Toney reached base on a fielder's choice after hitting a grounder to VSU shortstop Judy Hatch. The Alexander and Toney scoring combination were a result of Smoot reaching on a error.

Toney scored for the second time in game two after Enders hit a sacrifice fly to center field in the bottom half of the fifth inning to close out the nightcap scoring.
