BOX SCORE

(HAMPTON, Va.)  The struggle continues for the Lady Bulldogs volleyball team, as Bowie State is swept 3-0 by Shaw on opening day of the CIAA Round-Up held at the Boo Williams Sportsplex.  Shaw won by scores of 25-11, 25-12 and 25-16.

Freshman Jasmine Nixon (Middletown, NY, Middletown) and junior Ashley Robinson (Cleveland, OH, Shaker Heights) led BSU's Lady Bulldogs with five and four kills respectively.  Bowie State's attack percentage was 16 percent on the evening compared to 60 percent for Shaw's Lady Bears.

Khandi Joseph and Nikita Grant paced Shaw with 10 kills each and Monica Grimmage added another seven kills in the Shaw victory.  Nia Bailey went to the floor to pickup an match-high four digs.

Bowie State University (0-9) returns to action Saturday (9/12) with matchups against Johnson C. Smith University at 9 a.m., Livingstone College at 1 p.m. and St. Augustine's College at 7 p.m.
