BOWIE STATE 7th OVERALL AT DELAWARE STATE INVITE

COMPLETE RESULTS

(DOVER, Del.)  Competing in their final meet before the Division II National Championships, the Bowie State University Lady Bulldogs finished 7th overall (43 points) out of the 12 team field at the Delaware State University Invitational.  Host Delaware State took top honors (118.50), Morgan State University was second (105 points) and Coppin State University was third (57.50 points).

Junior Lakesha Carney (Hampton, VA, Denbigh) and freshman Brittany Williams led the BSU women with second place finishes in the Discus Throw (42.51m / 139-06) and 800 Meter Run (2:20.93) respectively.

Junior Nicole Robinson (Columbia, MD, Atholton) competed in the 100 and 400 Meter Hurdles, placing fourth and fifth respectively with times of 14.59 and 1:09.45.

The Bowie State relay teams had a good day with the 4x400 Meter Relay squad of freshmen Shayla Davis (Gaithersburg, MD, Watkins Mill), Indya Price and Jasmine Butler (Upper Marlboro, MD, Charles H. Flowers) and junior Shamika Patton (Frederick, MD, Frederick) finishing third with a time of 3:52.15.  Bowie State's 4x100 Meter Relay "A" team made up of freshmen John'nae Allen Davis, Price and Davis and sophomore Michelle Palmer (Fort Washington, MD, Oxon Hill) placed fifth, crossing the finish line with a time of 48.59.
