(SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va.) Finally … The Bowie State University six-week football road trip has ended but ended in defeat, falling in the snow to the Shepherd University Rams 38-17.
Shepherd's Eric Dobratz put the first points on the board for the Rams, booting a 35-yard field goal at the 10:28 mark of the first quarter. Kenny Williams punched it in from 7-yards out to extend the Rams lead to 10-0 with 6:10 left in the opening quarter.

Clifton Budd tiptoed around the right end for a six-yard touchdown and fellow senior
Michael Gagne added the extra point, trimming the early deficit to 10-7 with just less than two minutes left in the first half.
However, William McKenzie took the ensuing kickoff 70-yards to house, giving Shepherd a 17-7 lead.
Budd flipped a pass to junior
Reginald McIntyre for a 7-yard touchdown and Gagne's extra point made the score 17-14 with 12:59 remaining in the second quarter.
Shepherd quarterback Bobby Cooper found a wide open John Frick in the back of the end zone for a one-yard touchdown with 10.8 seconds left in the first half.
BSU's Gagne drilled a 27-yard field goal at the 10:26 mark of the third quarter, cutting the Rams lead down to 24-17.
Williams (93 yards on 20 carries) scored his second touchdown of the afternoon, pounding in from 8-yards out with 3:49 remaining in the game to push the Rams lead to 31-17.
Shepherd put the final nail in the coffin when DJ Scott intercepted a pass from BSU junior Tyrae Reid and returned it 92 yards for a touchdown. Neil Hardee converted the extra point and wrapped up the game at 38-17.
Budd led the Bowie State offense with 95 rushing yards on 11 carries and redshirt freshman
Keith Brown carried the ball 14 times for 76 yards. McIntyre led all receivers with a 18 reception yards on two catches.
Junior Bekewele Amadi led the Bulldogs defense with eight total tackles (seven solo) and seniors
Delano Johnson and
Reginald Berry along with sophomore
Quentin Walker added five tackles each.
Nic Tolson and A.J. Parrish paced the Rams with nine and eight tackles respectively.
As a team, Bowie State committed five turnovers, all interceptions, and ended the afternoon with 241 total yards on 61 plays.
The Bulldogs close out the season next Saturday (November 5th) hosting the Hawks of Chowan University at 1 pm. Thirteen seniors will be honored in a pre-game activity in Bulldogs Stadium beginning at 12:30 pm.
