(BOWIE, Md.) The Lady Marauders of Millersville University cruise to a pair of non-conference softball wins, defeating Bowie State University 10-0 and 8-1. The Lady Bulldogs end the regular season with a record of 20-18.
Bowie State had a tough afternoon at the plate, managing only nine total hits over two games compared to 29 hits for the Lady Marauders.
BSU's Lady Bulldogs tallied five hits in game one with no one player getting more than one hit. The biggest hit for Bowie State in the opener was a double by freshman
Adria Lewis (Cumberland, MD, Fort Hill). However, Lewis was injured sliding into second and did not return.
Four Millersville players accounted for three hits each in the first game and racked up 17 hits in the shutout.
Millersville's Sarah Signore struck out eight and walked only two to claim the victory.
Millersville (16-22) scored three runs in the top of the third inning of game two and never looked back. Kelly Fitzgerald went 3-for-4 in the nightcap to pace the Lady Marauders.
