(PETERSBURG, Va.) Bowie State University broke a scoreless tie in the top of the sixth inning and held on to defeat Fayetteville State University 2-0. The win improves the Lady Bulldogs record to 21-18 while FSU's Lady Broncos drop to 18-22.

Renelle Traylor (Hayward, CA, San Lorenzo) singled to center with two outs and sophomore
Kristen Lee followed with a triple down the left field line, scoring Traylor. Lee scored Bowie State's final run via a passed ball.
As a team, Bowie State tallied five hits and freshman
Mariela Hernandez (Del Rio, TX, Los Fresnos) (11-12) struck out six and allowed six hits.
Traylor led the Lady Bulldogs with a pair of hits and Lee along with freshmen
Adria Lewis (Cumberland, MD, Fort Hill) and
Haley Snyder (Pennsauken, NJ, Pennsauken) added one hit each.
Bowie State advances in the CIAA Championships to face Chowan at 5 pm today.
