(RALEIGH, N.C.) The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams definitely brought their offense with them when the team took a 6-2 win over the Bowie State Lady Bulldogs.
The two teams combined for 24 hits in the game with the Lady Rams totaling 13 hits. Four Lady Rams totaled multiple hits in the win with four Lady Rams' players notching at least two hits in the game. Tanaya Pettus led the way for Winston-Salem State with a two-for-four effort at the plate with two RBI. Britney Cato added a pair of RBI as well.
After going scoreless for the first two innings of the game, the Lady Rams broke the scoring seal with three third inning runs. It was a Pettus two-RBI double, followed by an RBI single by Nikki Lynch that did the damage for the Lady Rams. Winston-Salem State scored once again in the fifth inning with an RBI single by Cato. The Lady Rams closed out the effort with a pair of seventh-inning runs when Cato hit another RBI single, followed by an RBI single by Lane.

Haley Snyder paced the Lady Bulldogs with two hits each on four plate appearances each. Freshman
Sharde Alls went two-for-two in the setback.
Yasmin Lee picked up the pitching win, going five innings for the Lady Rams with two strikeouts and one earned run allowed.
Lady Bulldogs' freshman Haley Flint went the distance in the circle, striking out six and walked one.
Bowie State will wrap-up the weekend Round-Up on Sunday (3/11) beginning with a 9 am matchup against Saint Augustine's College. The Lady Bulldogs will end the weekend event with a 1 pm contest versus Johnson C. Smith.
