Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

(TAKOMA PARK, Md.)  Junior Justine Smith and sophomore Adria Lewis went 5-for-8 each in Bowie State's 15-0 and 12-7 non-conference victories at Washington Adventist University.

Bowie State University recorded 16 hits in game one with Lewis leading the way with four to go along with a game-high six RBI.  Smith and freshman Cara Nance tallied three hits and two RBI each and sophomore Haley Snyder added a pair of hits and three RBI to pace the Lady Bulldogs.

Shelby Snyder (4-2) got the win, striking out 10, walking one and allowed just one hit.

The lone Washington Adventist hit in game one came in the first inning when Kelsey Wright singled to left field.  The Shock accumulated four errors in the 15-0 loss and Sarah Cooley took the loss.

Game two was a little tougher for Bowie State.  The Lady Bulldogs began the game with a four run, four hit first inning.  Washington Adventist responded with three runs on three hits in their portion of the first.

Bowie State freshman Cassandra Clayborne opened the Lady Bulldogs second inning with a single up the middle and later stole second.  With two outs, Lewis stroked a single through the left side of the Shock infield scoring Clayborne for a 5-3 Lady Bulldogs lead.

Wright began the Washington Adventist third inning with a double and advanced to third on ground out by Cooley.  Erin Sheehan-Wright hit a sacrifice fly to center that allowed Kelsey Wright to score, cutting the Bowie State lead to 5-4.

The Lady Bulldogs got that run back in the top of the fourth inning only to have the Shock return the favor in the bottom half of the inning.

Bowie State added three runs in the sixth and another three runs in the top of the seventh inning to take a 12-5 advantage.

Hayley Flint

Lady Bulldogs' pitcher Hayley Flint sent Margaret Douglas back to the Shock dugout with a strike out but Hyden Bruce laced a single through the left side of the BSU infield.   Bruce stole second and advanced to third on a single by Shaheen-Wright.  Kelsey Wright grounded out to the pitcher for the second out, giving Bruce the opportunity to score on the throw to first.  A Cooley single up the middle pushed Shaheen-Wright across the plate, accounting for the final margin of 12-7.

Bowie State pounded out a dozen hits in the nightcap with Clayborne leading the Lady Bulldogs with three.  Smith, Haley Snyder and freshman Raenelle Taylor added two hits.  Smith and Nance tied for game-high RBI honors with three each.

Flint went the distance in the circle for the Lady Bulldogs, striking out six to improve her record to 4-3.

Bruce led the Shock with three hits and Shaheen-Wright along with Cooley added a pair of hits each.  As a team Washington Adventist (7-25) recorded 10 hits but committed four errors in game two.

Bowie State (13-9) continues their four-team road trip with stop number two coming next Tuesday (April 10th) at CIAA division rival Virginia State.
