Cheyney, Pa. - The Bowie State University volleyball team suffered a tough road loss at Cheyney University on Tuesday night at Cope Hall, as the Lady Bulldogs were defeated (13-25, 26-24, 25-19, 20-25 and 7-15).

The Lady Bulldogs fall to 6-17 overall with the setback.

Sophomore
Valerie Taylor (Walkersville, Md.) and senior
Yaje Ngundam (Bowie, Md.) led Bowie State in kills with 14 and 11 respectively on a combined 80 attacks. Ngumdam also recorded double figure digs with 16 while Taylor led Bowie State in blocks with two.

Junior
Adrielle Brisbon (Fort Washington, Md.) had a match-high 34 assists to go along with two kills and 18 digs. Senior
Marissa Martinez (Albuquerque, N.M.) chipped in a team-high 20 digs and added nine assists.

The Lady Bulldogs hit .046 for the match.

The Lady Wolves (2-19) were led by Chelsea Hutson with 15 kills and she contributed 17 digs. Alaiya Cave tallied 12 kills in the win while Nishay Carrier was Cheyney's top setup person with 31 assists.

Bowie State will step away from competition for a few days before returning to the court Saturday (October 24th) for a non-conference tri-match hosted by Georgian Court University (Linwood, N.J.). The Lady Bulldogs will open the tri-match versus Dominican College at 1 p.m. followed by a 3 p.m. match against host Georgian Court.
