Box Score Charlotte, N.C. – For the fourth time this season, Bowie State University graduate student Matthew Goggans (Pine Grove, Calif.) has been voted CIAA Quarterback of the Week by the conference head coaches and Sports Information Directors. Goggans completed 17-of-26 passes (one interception) on Saturday (10/3) afternoon for a game-high 177 yards and three touchdowns. Bowie State captured a 34-21 road win at Johnson C. Smith University and improved its season record to 4-1 and 2-0 in league play.
 
Through five games, Goggans leads the CIAA in passing yards per game (312.0) and touchdowns (16). In terms of national rankings, Goggans is 7th in TD passes and 9th in passing yards.
 
Bowie State (4-1, 2-0 CIAA) welcomes the high-flying Hawks of Chowan University (4-1, 2-0 CIAA) to the BSU campus this Saturday (10/10) as the Bulldogs celebrate Homecoming 2015. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
