Lincoln University, Pa. – Bowie State University volleyball dropped a 3-0 decision at Lincoln (Pa.) University on Thursday evening, falling by scores of 27-29, 14-25 and 26-24. The loss sets the Bowie State season record at 5-13 overall (2-5 CIAA) while Lincoln's season record goes to 4-6 overall (3-4 CIAA).
Sophomore
Valerie Taylor (Walkersville, Md.) paced the Lady Bulldogs with a team-high kills on 27 attacks and added three digs. Senior
Yaje Ngundam (Bowie, Md.) recorded five kills on 22 attacks while juniors
Jasmine Ashe (Baltimore, Md.) and
Breiona Garrison (Baltimore, Md.) tallied four kills each in the setback to the Lady Lions.
Senior
Marissa Martinez (Albuquerque, N.M.) recorded a match-high 20 digs while redshirt junior teammate
Alicia Grant (Edgewood, Md.) contributed 16 digs over three sets. The Lady Bulldogs junior duo of
Amy Harvey (Laurel, Md.) and
Adrielle Brisbon (Fort Washington, Md.) accounted for 11 set assists each.
Jillian Lee was Lincoln's top scorer with nine kills to go along with four digs, two solo blocks and a pair of block assists.
The Lady Bulldogs return to action on Monday (October 12th) hosting the Lady Panthers of Virginia Union University at 7 p.m. in BSU's Leonidas S. James Complex (A.C. Jordan Arena).
