Box Score CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) released their final Weekly Football Honor Roll on Tuesday and Bowie State is highly visible.
Graduate student
Kendall Jefferson (Temple Hills, Md.) was named Offensive Back and Special Teams Player of the Week, juniors
Justin Nestor (Dayton, Md.) and
Nyme Manns (Baltimore, Md.) were voted as the Offensive Lineman of the Week and Receiver of the Week respectively, freshman
Nyema Washington (Forestville, Md.) was selected Quarterback of the Week as well as Rookie of the Week and head coach
Damon Wilson was honored as Coach of the Week.
Jefferson set a Bowie State single-game rushing yards record with 269 on 24 carries and scored three rushing touchdowns to lead the Bulldogs. Jefferson also tallied 155 kickoff return yards with one being a 95 return for a score.
Nestor was instrumental upfront for Bowie State, helping the Bulldogs roll up a team single-game record for offensive yards with 732 in their 63-42 win at Elizabeth City State on Saturday afternoon.
Manns tied a Bowie State single-game record for most TD receptions with three, recording seven catches for 157 yards.
Washington threw for personal career-high 364 yards and set a new BSU single-game touchdown passes record with five in the regular season finale at Elizabeth City State.
Wilson and the Bulldogs ran the table in the North after defeating Elizabeth City State 63-42 in the regular season finale and advance to Saturday's (11/14) CIAA Championship game.
