RALEIGH, N.C. – The Shaw University women's tennis team topped the Bowie State University Lady Bulldogs 7-0 to close out the weekend CIAA Round-Up on Sunday morning.
RESULTS Shaw's Ana Ruzir and Jessica Medina defeated Bowie State's #1 doubles tandem of
Amber Peters and
Antonique Johnson 8-0. In #2 doubles play, BSU's
Channae Manning and Rahwa Habtermariam dropped an 8-0 decision to Gislaine Farias and Marilyne Kamegne.
Peters lost her #1 singles match to Ruzir by scores of 6-1 and 6-3. Shaw claimed 6-0, 6-0 victories at #2, #3 and #4 singles and Bowie State's
Selena Slaughter fell 6-2, 6-2 at #5 singles to Hailli Hanna-Cooke.
Lady Bulldogs' tennis returns to the court on Saturday, March 14th, making a trip to Virginia Union University. Match time at Battery Park is 1 pm.
