EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Bowie State University volleyball came up empty on day one of the East Stroudsburg University Warrior Invitational on Friday afternoon, dropping non-conference matches to St. Anselm College and Nyack College. 
St. Anselm claimed a straight set (25-11, 25-14 and 25-15) victory over the Lady Bulldogs and snapped BSU's two match winning streak. 
Bowie State was paced by junior 
Breiona Garrison (Baltimore, Md.) with five kills and added three digs. Senior 
Yaje Ngundam (Bowie, Md.) chipped in four kills to along with seven digs and contributed two block assists. 
Redshirt senior 
Marissa Martinez (Albuquerque, N.M.) recorded a match-high 11 digs in the Lady Bulldogs' setback. 
Katy Teets and Sarah Lowery led St. Anselm (2-3) with 12 and 11 kills respectively while Jewel Hays tallied a match-best 21 set assists. Riley Grussing was also a great setup artist, adding 16 set assists. 
In Bowie State's second match of the day, Nyack held off a fierce challenge by the Lady Bulldogs, earning a three-set sweep by scores of 25-22, 25-14 and 25-22. 
Ngundam led the Bowie State attack with a team-high seven kills to go along with eight digs, one solo block and one service ace. Junior 
Adrielle Brisbon (Fort Washington, Md.) recorded team-highs of eight set assists and three service aces. 
Martinez led the Lady Bulldogs on defense, picking up a match-high 14 digs while sophomore 
Cheyenne Salter (Baltimore, Md.) finished the match with four sets. 
As a team, Bowie State ended the match with an attack percentage of .079 compared to .168 for Nyack. 
Nyack (1-3) was led by Lindsay Miller with a match-high 10 kills to go along with four service aces, two digs and one solo block. 
Natalie Anderson dished out a match-high 20 assists and Olivia Denny also had double-digit assists with 11. Anderson also added six kills, nine digs and five services for Nyack. 
Annah Aguilar and Jillian Smith tallied five kills each in Nyack's win. 
The Lady Bulldogs continue play in the Warrior Invitational on Saturday, facing host East Stroudsburg at 12 p.m. Bowie State will close out the weekend versus Molloy College at 4 p.m.
