RALEIGH, N.C. – Saint Augustine's University volleyball defeated Bowie State University 3-0 (25-14, 25-16 and 25-14) in opening round action of the CIAA Round-Up #2 on Saturday afternoon. The loss snapped a two-match Bowie State winning streak and sets their season mark at 5-8 overall and 1-6 in conference play.
 
Breiona Garrison (Baltimore, Md.) continues to show her senior leadership, pacing the Bulldogs with a team-high six kills and tied for team-high dig honors with seven. Junior 
Tia Williams (Abingdon, Md.) contributed four kills in the straight set loss while sophomore 
Cheyenne Salter (Baltimore, Md.) and freshmen 
Brianna Myers (Jessup, Md.) and 
Jada Mccullough (Baltimore, Md.) chipped in a pair of kills each.
 
The Lady Falcons of Saint Augustine's (5-7, 3-3 CIAA) were led by the duo of Shakera Hall and Akera McPhaul with 13 and 12 kills respectively. Brittany Jamison and Marley Parker combined for 14 kills and Meghan Mahon was responsible for 34 of SAU's 38 assists.
 
Bowie State's next opponent in the two-day Round-Up is Fayetteville State with match time set for 3 p.m.
