BOWIE, Md. – Bowie State University volleyball made it a season sweep of Washington Adventist University on Tuesday (10/4) evening, rolling to a straight set victory by scores of 25-17, 25-14 and 25-5.
The Lady Bulldogs were led by seniors
Breiona Garrison (Baltimore, Md.) an
Amy Harvey (Laurel, Md.) along with freshman Briana Myers (Jessup, Md.). Garrison recorded eight kills and six service aces, both match-highs while Harvey and Myers added five kills apiece. Harvey also contributed a team-high six digs, seven assists and five service aces and sophomore
Cheyenne Salter ended the night with a match-high 14 assists.
Washington Adventist (1-11) was led by senior Chelsea Rivera (New Bedford, Mass.) on offense with four kills on 13 attacks and tallied five digs in the loss. Spring McCarthy (Gaithersburg, Md.) paced the Shock on defense with six digs to go along with three assists.
Bowie State (3-10) will have little time to rest as the Lady Bulldogs will play their second straight non-conference match in as many days, traveling to Cheyney University of Pennsylvania for a 7 p.m. match.
