BOWIE, Md. – The Winston-Salem State University Rams wasted little time beating host Bowie State University 3-0 (25-15, 52-16 and 25-20) to wrap up the Bulldogs participation in the CIAA North/South Round-Up on Sunday morning.
Winston-Salam State (6-4 / 3-0 CIAA) controlled from beginning to end, holding a .278 to .092 attack percentage advantage over Bowie State (0-5 / 0-3 CIAA).
Senior
Breiona Garrison (Baltimore, Md.) paced Bowie State's offense with six kills to go along with eight digs and one assist. The Bulldogs freshmen duo of
Brianna Myers (Jessup, Md.) and
Jada Mccullough (Baltimore, Md.) tallied three kills apiece while junior
Cheyenne Salter (Baltimore, Md.) accounted for a team-high 10 assists and 10 digs.
The Rams were led by Roselyn Mitchell and Jasmine Smith with 11 and nine kills respectively. Maura Yarbrough, Mya Snow and Smith combined for 38 of Winston-Salem State's 40 assists.
Bowie State returns to action on Thursday (9/22) hosting Virginia State at 6 p.m.
