PETERSBURG, Va. – The defending CIAA Volleyball Champions of Shaw University had no trouble with Bowie State University on Sunday morning, knocking off the Bulldogs 3-0 (25-10, 25-10 and 25-6) in VSU's Multipurpose Center.
As a team, Bowie State ended the match with a minus .017 attack percentage compared to .488 for the Shaw Lady Bears.
Freshman
Bianca Tucker (Edgewood, Md.) picked up a team-high eight digs and also led the Bulldogs in assists with four. Junior
Brittainy Houck (Burns, Ore.) was Bowie State's leader in kills with three to go along with one block assists.
Shaw (16-2, 8-0 CIAA) was led by Keveesha Wattley with a match-high six kills while teammates Saraya Klink, Tapanga Moten and Jazmin Johnson-McCoy chipped in five kills apiece in the win.
Bowie State (0-15, 0-9 CIAA) return to the court on Wednesday (October 4th) at Cheyney. Match time in Cope Hall is 7 p.m.
