ETTRICK, Va. - The Bowie State University volleyball team came up short on the road at Virginia State, 0-3 (11-25, 11-25, 21-25) on Thursday evening in VSU's Multipurpose Center. The loss drops the Bulldogs to 1-18 on the season and 0-11 in CIAA play. Virginia State improves to 6-13 (6-4 CIAA) with the win.

Kiana Moore (Newark, Del.) led Bowie State's limited kills with a team-high three. Junior
Brittainy Houck (Burns, Ore.), sophomore Shalon Omo-Osagie (Baltimore, Md.) and freshman
Caitland Okorafor (Hyattsville, Md.) contributed a pair of kills apiece. Houck and freshman
Oladia Menchaca (Landover, Md.) picked up five digs each and freshman
Bianca Tucker (Edgewood, Md.) put up eight set assists.
Myja Jones and Jailyn Ivey had seven kills each and Kennedi Cannon added six kills to lead Virginia State. Cannon paced the Trojans with a dozen digs. Miranda Bass recorded a match-high 21 assists and Jasmine Jones picked up 10 digs in the win.
Bowie State will begin a four-game home-stand beginning Sunday, Oct. 15 when they host Chowan University in a 1 p.m. CIAA Northern Division contest.
