Kyah Proctor (Capital Heights, Md.), was voted Player of the Week, graduate student
Sade Chatman (Minneapolis, Minn.) was selected as Newcomer of the Week and Head Coach
Shadae Swan was named Coach of the Week.
Proctor averaged 16.5 ppg over two games with her high-game of 17 points coming in Bowie State's 73-64 victory over the Shippensburg Raiders on Saturday evening. She shot 48 percent from the field over the two games and made 6-of-7 free throws (.857).In addition to her 17 points versus Shippensburg, Proctor grabbed four rebounds, handed out three assists, recorded three steals and was named the Wolf's Bus Lines Classic MVP. Chatman, a transfer from the University of Delaware, scored 19 points, grabbed seven rebounds and blocked a career high five shots to help Bowie State to a 73-64 road win at Shippensburg to close out the Wolf's Bus Lines Classic. Over the two-day event, Chatman averaged 13.5 ppg., 6.5 rebounds and 3.0 blocks and was named to the All-Classic Team. Swan and her Bulldogs opened the 2017-2018 season with back-to-back wins against Kutztown (53-35) and Shippensburg (73-64) as participants in the Wolf's Bus Lines Classic hosted by Shippensburg.
Bulldogs women's basketball will make their home debut this Saturday (November 18th), hosting Catawba College at 6 p.m. in the Leonidas S. James (A.C. Jordan Arena).
