BOWIE, Md. – Bowie State University volleyball played with tremendous energy against Fayetteville State University on Sunday morning but dropped a 3-0 decision. The Lady Broncos won by scores of 25-19, 25-16 and 25-20 to improves its record to 5-4 overall (3-0 CIAA). The loss dips the Bulldogs' record to 0-7 overall (0-3 CIAA).

Brittainy Houck (Burns, Ore.) along with freshman
Caitland Okorafor (Hyattsville, Md.) led Bowie State with six kills each while senior
Tia Williams (Abingdon, Md.) and freshman
Sydney Tucker (Columbia, Md.) added four and three kills respectively. Freshmen
Bianca Tucker (Edgewood, Md.) and
Oladia Menchaca (Landover, Md.) tallied 10 and nine assists respectively for the Bulldogs.
Fayetteville State was led by Arlicia Ortiz with a match-high nine kills to go along with one service ace and four digs. Nia Bell added five kills for the Lady Broncos and Bojo Jada was responsible for four kills. Ziyanna Canty recorded match highs of 11 assists and five service aces.
The Bulldogs return to action on Thursday (September 21), playing host to Virginia State University in the A.C. Jordan Arena, First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m.
