Kiana Moore (Newark, Del.) recorded a match-high seven kills, while junior
Brittainy Houck (Burns, Ore.) added five kills and finished with a match-high eight digs for the Bulldogs. However, it wasn't enough, as Bowie State would fall to Virginia State, 3-0 (25-10, 25-19, 25-13) on Thursday evening at
BSU's A.C. Jordan Arena.

Freshman
Oladia Menchaca (Landover, Md.) contributed a team-high 10 assists. The Bulldogs fall to 0-9 on the season, 0-4 in league play and 0-1 in the CIAA North, while Virginia State moves its record to 2-10 overall (2-2 CIAA, 1-0 North).
Virginia State was paced by Jailyn Ivey (Bowie, Md.), who finished with six kills on a match-high 20 attacks and added a pair of service aces. Hailey Heyward added five kills and a .833 attack percentage. Jasmine Jones (Richmond, Texas) collected a team-high six digs and Miranda Bass (Gainesville, Fla.) totaled a match-high 15 assists.
The Virginia State Trojans finished the match with a team hitting percentage of .164, while the Bowie State Bulldogs finished with a minus .127 attack percentage.
The Bulldogs return to action on Saturday, Sept. 23, when they take on conference foe Chowan University in Murfreesboro, N.C. at 1 p.m. in the Helms Center.
