SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University (10-4) captured a 3-0 (25-12, 25-5, 25-4) win over Bowie State (0-12) in non-conference volleyball action at the Butcher Center on Thursday night.
The Bowie State Bulldogs trio of freshmen
Oladia Menchaca (Landover, Md.) and
Brianna Myers (Jessup, Md.) along with junior
Brittainy Houck (Burns, Md.) accounted for a pair of kills each. Menchaca had a team-high 12 attacks and added one assist, one did and two digs.
Cambriea Hill (Columbia, Md.) had 11 kills and Amanda Snowden (Hagerstown, Md.) added 10 to pace the Rams. Seone Goode (Fredericksburg, Va.) posted seven kills. Becca Kern (Martinsburg, W.Va.) recorded 23 assists and nine aces, while Milleysha Molina-Otero (Fairfax, Va.) had a match-high seven digs for Shepherd.
The Bulldogs return to conference play this weekend, participating the CIAA Round-Up #2 hosted by Virginia State University. Bowie State will face Saint Augustine's and Winston-Salem State on Saturday (9/30) then take on Shaw on Sunday (10/1). All matches will be played in the VSU Multipurpose Center.
