RICHMOND, Va. – The weekend CIAA Round-Up wasn't quite what Bowie State volleyball team planned for as the Bulldogs lost to Saint Augustine's (22-25, 21-25, 25-18 and 22-25) on Saturday (9/22) and came up short to Shaw (8-25, 10-25 and 16-25) and Claflin (21-25, 14-25 and 20-25) on Sunday (9/23).
Five Bulldogs tallied double digit kills over the two-day event with junior
Shalom Omo-Osagie (Baltimore, Md.) and sophomore
Soljala Jones (Washington, D.C.) leading the team with 13 kills each. Jones also led Bowie State in service aces with six. Sophomore
Chelsea Beaudoin (Upper Marlboro, Md.) along with freshman
Madison Marshall (Albany, N.Y.) tallied a dozen kills apiece while sophomore
Oladia Menchaca (Landover, Md.) contributed 11 kills over three matches. Beaudoin was the Bulldogs top defensive player picking up 40 digs and sophomore
Bianca Tucker (Edgewood, Md.) added 51 sets assists.
Bowie State (1-6 / 0-6 CIAA) begins conference divisional play on Tuesday (September 25) at Virginia State University. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
