Ja'rome Johnson (Washington, D.C.) was named Quarterback of the Week while senior
John Robinson (Uniondale, N.Y.) was named Offensive Lineman of the Week.
Johnson accounted for six touchdowns this past weekend that a season-high three rushing touchdowns from 11, 40, and 57 yards and another three through the air. The junior signal caller finished with 290 yards of total offense that included a career-high 193 rushing yards and 97 passing in Bowie State's 64-17 homecoming win. He currently leads the CIAA with eight rushing touchdowns and 8.4 yards per carry while ranking third with 569 rushing yards. Robinson led a Bowie State offensive line that helped the ground game produce a season-high 404 rushing yards, including a pair of 100-yard rushers. The Uniondale, NY native was a key cog in the Bulldogs offense that scored nine touchdowns, including six rushing and three passing, in their 64-17 homecoming win over Chowan.
No. 16 (AFCA Poll) will take its undefeated record (6-0 overall, 3-0 CIAA, 1-0 North) into Ettrick, Va. on Saturday (October 19) to face Virginia State (5-1, 3-0 CIAA, 1-0 North) for the Trojans Homecoming. The game will be nationally televised on the Aspire Network with kickoff set for 2 p.m.
