WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Bowie State University (2-7) volleyball team swept Trinity (D.C.) on the road Thursday (10/3) night, rolling to a straight set win by scores of 25-9, 25-3 and 25-11. The victory stopped a 7-match slide for the Bulldogs.Â

The Bulldogs dominated from start to finish, tallying a season-high .378 team attack percentage with 20 kills, just three attack errors, 45 total attacks and recorded season-highs in service aces with 25 in the 3-0 non-conference victory.

Senior
Alana Matson (Baltimore, Md.) paced Bowie State with a half dozen kills on eight attacks. The Bulldogs trio of senior
Chelsea Beaudoin (Upper Marlboro, Md.) along with juniors
Soljala Jones (Washington, D.C.) and
Caitland Okorafor (Hyattsville, Md.) were responsible for four kills apiece on a combined 24 attacks.

Junior
Bianca Tucker (Edgewood, Md.) accounted for a match-high 11 assists to go along with a pair of kills. Bulldogs freshman
Neysha Washington (Winchester, Va.) notched a double-double of 13 digs and a match-high 10 service aces and sophomore
Madison Marshall (Albany, N.Y.) picked up six digs to go along with five service aces.

Kenna Brooks was the leading offensively and defensive player for the Trinity Tigers, putting down four kills and picked up six digs in the loss. As a team Trinity finished the match with a minus .211 attack percentage as the Tigers had eight kills, and 20 errors on 57 total attacks.

Bowie State will have a tough, long weekend in front of them as the participate in CIAA Round-Up #1 hosted by Claflin University in Orangeburg, S.C. on Saturday (10/5) and Sunday (10/6). The Bulldogs open with host Claflin at 12 p.m. on Saturday followed by a 4 p.m. match against Livingstone. Bowie State's Sunday schedule consist of matches versus Winston-Salem State at 10:30 a.m. and will closeout the weekend against Fayetteville State at 1 p.m. Â
