LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. – Bowie State University (3-11, 1-5 CIAA) volleyball team defeated Lincoln University of Pennsylvania, 3-0 (25-23, 25-21 and 25-22), on Tuesday (Oct. 8) evening in Manuel Rivero Hall. The victory snapped a five-match conference slide for the Bulldogs.
Alana Matson paced the Bulldogs offensively, finishing with five kills to go along with five service aces and three digs.
Bianca Tucker and
Oladia Menchaca put up 12 and nine set assists, respectively for Bowie State in the win. Defensively,
Neysha Washington picked up nine digs while teammates
Chelsea Beaudoin,
Madison Marshall and Karen Diaz-Avilez contributed a half dozen digs each in the sweep.
Lincoln (Pa.) (1-10, 1-5 CIAA) was led by Kaiya Lewis who finished with five kills while Jasmin Lewis added three kills. Tymera Crudup led the Lions defensively with a match-high 14 digs.
The Bulldogs return to divisional play on Monday (October 14) on the road at Virginia Union University. Match time is 6 p.m. in Barco-Stevens Hall.
