BOWIE, Md. - Bowie State returned to the volleyball court on Tuesday evening with a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Northern Division match hosting Virginia Union. The Bulldogs unfortunately would fall to the Lady Panthers, 3-1 (25-27, 22-25, 25-22 and 21-25) in the A.C. Jordan Arena.

The loss sets the Bowie State record at 5-17 overall, 3-11 in CIAA play and 2-5 in the North while Virginia Union pulls their season record even at 9-9 and improve to 9-4 in league play and 5-2 in the CIAA.

Bowie State which was coming off an eight-day layoff, was led by senior
Chelsea Beaudoin (Upper Marlboro, Md.) with team-highs of 11 kills and 42 attacks to go along with 15 digs and one service ace. Sophomore
Madison Marshall (Albany, N.Y.) picked up 21 digs for the Bulldogs and added nine kills and three service aces. Freshman
Neysha Washington (Winchester, Va.) led the Bulldogs defensively with a match-high 29 digs and contributed a match-high four service aces while junior
Bianca Tucker (Edgewood, Md.) accounted for 35 of Bowie State's 37 assists.

Essence Poteat (Orlando, Fla.) and Kamryn Young (Orlando, Fla.) paced Virginia Union on offense with 11 and 10 kills respectively while A'rmaria Wright (Arlington, Texas) notched a double-double of 31 assists and 23 digs.

The VUU Lady Panthers hit .036 as a team, finishing with 39 kills for the match and 33 attack errors. Bowie State tallied 41 kills, but committed 37 attack errors for a .022 attack percentage.Â

The Bulldogs will have a nine-day layoff before playing its final regular season home match on Thursday, November 14 against Lincoln University of Pennsylvania. This will be Senior Day and first serve is set for 4 p.m.
