ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. - The Bowie State Bulldogs were shutout twice on opening day of the CIAA Round-Up, losing 14-0 to the Claflin Lady Panthers and 12-0 to the Winston-Salem State Rams at the South Park Complex. The pair of losses sets Bowie State's season mark at 0-6 overall and 0-2 in CIAA play.
The Bulldogs managed just three hits over the two games with senior Tiffany Bears accounting for two hits and freshman
Shanya Gordon responsible for one hit. On the other side of the scorecard, Claflin pounded out 14 hits while Winston-Salem State accounted for 14 hits against the Bulldogs.

Kristina Hawke took the loss in the circle against Claflin and senior
Morgan Powell took the loss versus Winston-Salem State.
Bowie State, who is playing the southern division opponents of the conference over the weekend, will face Shaw, Saint Augustine's and Livingstone on day two, Saturday (Mar. 16), at 10 a.m., 12:15 p.m. and 4:45 p.m., respectively. The Bulldogs will close out the Round-Up on Sunday (Mar. 17) versus Johnson C. Smith at 10 a.m. and Fayetteville State at 2:30 p.m.
