BOWIE, Md. - Bowie State University (1-0) volleyball made it a clean sweep in its season opener at home against Washington Adventist University (0-2) on Thursday (9/5) night, cruising to straight set wins by scores of 25-15, 25-11 and 25-20. As a team, the Bulldogs recorded an attack percentage of .061 compared to a minus .110 attack percentage for the Lady Shock.

Alana Matson (Baltimore, Md.) led the Bulldogs with a half dozen kills on 14 attacks and added a service ace, one block, one block assists and one dig. Juniors
Bianca Tucker (Edgewood, Md.) and
Chelsea Beaudoin (Upper Marlboro, Md.) contributed four kills each in the three set victory while senior
Shalom Omo-Osagie tallied three kills for Bowie State. Tucker paced both teams with a match-high 14 assists and recorded a pair of service aces and a pair of digs. Sophomore
Karen Diaz-Aviles (Washington, D.C.) led the Bulldogs on defense with a dozen digs and freshman
Neysha Washington (Landover, Md.) was responsible for eight digs.
Washington Adventist was led by Amber Morman with four kills and tied for team-high attack honors with 17. The Lady Shock duo of Courtney Tooley and Sara Adalla accounted for three kills each in the loss.
Bowie State returns to the court Tuesday (September 10) at 6 p.m. hosting Kutztown (Pa.) University in a non-conference contest in the A.C. Jordan Arena.
