WACO, Tex. – Bowie State University moved up four spots to No. 16 in the latest American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II Coaches Poll released Monday afternoon.  BSU is tied with Shepherd (WVA) in the poll with 257 total pints.

The Bulldogs rolled to a fourth consecutive win on the season Saturday with a 44-7 victory over Johnson C. Smith at Bulldogs Stadium for their annual Homecoming game.
BSU's 16^th ranking is the highest this season after starting the 2021 campaign at No. 18.

West Florida (4-0) remained atop while Northwest Missouri State (4-0) and Ferris State (5-0) round out the top three spots.

No. 16 Bowie State (4-1, 2-0 CIAA) will travel to Chowan (5-0, 2-0 CIAA) on Saturday, Oct. 9 for a highly anticipated CIAA Northern Division matchup. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. at Garrison Stadium in Murfreesboro, N.C.
