CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA), along with its Football Coaches Association and Sports Information Directors Association announced the 2021 All-CIAA First, Second and All-Rookie Teams and Bowie State University had 11 student-athletes named to the prestigious list, followed by the CIAA Coach of the Year honor announced Wednesday afternoon.
For the third time in his career, head football Coach
Damon Wilson was voted as the CIAA Coach of the Year by the league media and coaches. Wilson led the nationally ranked Bowie State Bulldogs to its third-consecutive CIAA Northern Division title and for the second season in a row and the Bulldogs went a undefeated at 7-0 against conference opponents this season. His team is currently ranked at No. 12 in the nation - the highest ranking this season and has now led the Bowie State football team to three consecutive CIAA Championship appearances, including winning the last two (2018 and 2019).
