Bowie State Football in Newest Rankings

Bowie, Md. – After concluding the 2021 regular season in dominant fashion, the Bowie State football team climb in the rankings announced Monday afternoon. The Bulldogs stand 9-1 overall and 7-0 in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA). The 2021 season marked the second-consecutive year Bowie State went undefeated against conference opponents.

AFCA DII Coaches Top-25 Poll
The Bulldogs climbed up two spots to No. 12 in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II Coaches Poll – the highest for Bowie State this season. BSU is one of two HBCU's on the list, accompanied by Albany State at No. 18.
 
NCAA Super Region Two Regional Ranking
In the NCAA DII Super Region Two regional rankings, Bowie State remained No. 2 behind Valdosta State (1) for the third-straight week. The ranking is the final public ranking to the NCAA DII Football selection show on Sunday, Nov. 14 at 5 p.m. and will be streamed live on NCAA.com. Albany State rounded out the top-3, while West Florida, West Georgia, Mars Hill and Newberry each hold steady at 4-7, respectively.  Savannah State replaced West Alabama this week at No. 8, while Lenoir-Rhyne and Fayetteville State are ninth and tenth, respectively.   
 
BOXTOROW Media Poll
Bowie State remained at No. 4 in the BOXTOROW HBCU Football Media Poll announced Monday afternoon. The ranking is the sixth-straight as the No. 4 selection is the highest BSU has been ranked in the media poll. Bowie State's fourth ranking is also the highest among DII schools in the poll – the Bulldogs are joined by Albany State (5) and Fayetteville State (6) and Savannah State (10). Jackson State, Prairie View A&M and Florida A&M round out the top three spots while Norfolk State, South Carolina State and Tennessee State were selected 7-9, respectively.
