WASHINGTON, D.C. – Bowie State's Ja'rome Johnson has been named to the DC Touchdown Club Washington Metro College Football Player of the Week Honor Roll announced Tuesday afternoon.
The 6-foot-1 senior quarterback returned from an ankle injury and completed 15-of-31 passes for 244 yards and two second-half touchdowns as the Bulldogs advanced to the NCAA Division II quarterfinals for the first time in school history with a 13-10 win over Newberry.
The award marks the fourth time Johnson has been named to the honor roll list for the DC Touchdown Club College Football Player of the Week. The Washington, D.C., native has been the only Bulldog to be named the DC Touchdown Club Washington Metro College Football Player of the Week during the regular season while Bowie State has garnered a total of eight honor roll recognitions between sophomore
Jonathan Ross (Waldorf, MD), Johnson and senior
Calil Wilkins (Temple Hills, MD).
