BOWIE, Md. – Coming off their first conference win on the season Tuesday, the Bowie State women's basketball team will have a quick turnaround as the Bulldogs welcome the Blue Bears of Livingstone College on Thursday, Dec. 16 for a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) cross division tipoff. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m. from A.C. Jordan Arena.

Bowie State Athletics has announced that there will be NO fans, spectators or media allowed for Thursday's home men's and women's basketball games.
Last Time Out
The Bulldogs snapped a three game losing skid while capturing their first CIAA win of the season with a 49-48 nail-biter over Johnson C. Smith Tuesday night. Bowie State's freshman Anii Harris (Ellicott City, MD) sunk two free throws in the final seconds which sealed the win as JCSU shot an air ball on the ensuing possession giving BSU the ball with .3 of a second remaining in regulation.
Harris led the Bulldogs in scoring with 11 points while freshman Katerra Myers (Burtonsville, MD) also tossed in 11 points and grabbed four rebounds.
With Tuesday's win, Bowie State stands 3-5 overall and 1-0 in league action.
Scouting Livingstone
JCSU enters Thursday game with 1-7 record, having lost their last three games including their most recent versus Augusta, 70-35 on Dec. 1 in Salisbury, N.C. Andresia Alexander was the only LC player to score in double digits against the Jaguars with 12 points and six rebounds. The Blue Bears shot just 24-percent from the field (13-54), 16-percent from the 3-point line (2-12) but was fairly decent from the free throw line, hitting 7-of-15 freebies.
The Blue Bears lone win came against Allen (S.C.) on Nov. 22 by the score of 62-34.
As a team, LC puts up 46.6 points per outing, while defensively, the Blue Bears have allowed their opponents to score an average of 63 points per game. Daija Turner is the team's leading scorer, averaging 9.0 points while Alexander posts 4.8 rebounds per night.
The Series
The Bulldogs have won 10 of the last 15 meetings against the Blue Bears since the 2008-2009 season. These two teams met twice in 2019-20, with BSU taking both games, including a 62-50 victory last time out. Bowie State will look for their sixth-straight win over Livingstone Thursday.
What's Next
Bowie State will wrap up the 2021 portion of conference action Monday, Dec. 20 when the Bulldogs play host to Winston-Salem State. Tip is slated for 5:30 p.m. on the campus of Washington Adventist in Tacoma Park, Md.
