Bowie State Athletics Launches Redesign of Website

BOWIE, Md. – Bowie State Athletics, in partnership with Sidearm Sports, launched a redesign of its website on Monday, Jan. 31. The URL address will be the same: https://bsubulldogs.com but the look of the site is different.

"I would like to thank Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations, Ms. Jolisa Williams, on her great work to improve the look, feel and functionality of the Bulldog website," said Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics & Recreation, Clyde Doughty, Jr. "The ability for us to tell our story in a clear and precise manner while allowing individuals to obtain needed information without confusion is essential to the overall visibility and success of the department."

The new website will continue to feature stories on each of the 13 varsity sports that Bowie State sponsors along with schedules, statistics and archives. There are also links to social media sites such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

"The Bowie State Athletics website is our primary means of communication information about our programs to a variety of constituents, including alumni, community members, parents and prospective recruits," added Assistant Athletic Director of Athletics Jolisa Williams. "A lot of time was spent looking at other websites, including many outside of intercollegiate athletics, and considered what components would be most effective in telling our department's story."

The branding of the new site is one of the obvious changes but in addition, the new site implemented the schedule/calendar of events has been moved to the right side of the top of the website so that it is more accessible. Furthermore, the athletic social media sites such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter are easier to get to than previously.

The Bowie State Athletics website unveiled a stand-alone website through its contract with Sidearm Sports, for the first time since 2015.
