BOWIE, MD - The Bowie State University Department of Athletics proudly announces the hiring of Angela Brown as its new Administrative Assistant.
"We are extremely pleased and excited to add Ms. Angela Brown to our athletic department. Angela brings a wealth of experience in management from her years working for the federal government." said Vice President of Athletics & Recreation Clyde Doughty, Jr. "She will be responsible for managing the plethora of needs in the office while supporting the administrative and coaching staff with their administrative duties."
Brown, also known in Bulldog Nation as "Ms. Angie" brings more than 25 years of professional experience in administration, leadership, and event operations, with a career spanning government service and collegiate athletics. She recently retired from the Maryland-National Capital Park & Planning Commission, where she served as a manager and supervisor overseeing zoning, land development, and information services. In that role, she directed staff, managed multimillion-dollar budgets, and provided expertise in planning and customer service.
"I am excited to begin this next chapter and truly grateful for the opportunity to work alongside the dedicated staff and talented student-athletes at Bowie State University," said Brown.
Her connection to sports runs deep, Brown has served on the scorer's table staff for Bowie State basketball since 2008, handling game clock operations, scorebooks, and televised game support. She also works with the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) as part of the conference basketball tournament staff, and contributes to professional organizations including Monumental Sports (Washington Mystics and Capital City Go-Go) and officiating associations in basketball, football, and volleyball.

Brown is a native of Lanham, Md., and brings a wealth of skills in organizational management, customer service, and event coordination.
