BOWIE, MD – The Bowie State football team continued its commitment to community engagement on Monday, Apr. 28, as BSU student-athletes visited Rockledge Elementary School to host a pep rally ahead of next week's Math Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program (M-CAP) testing.
The Bulldogs spent the morning encouraging students to stay focused, confident and motivated as they prepare for their upcoming exams. Through interactive activities, positive messages and high energy, Bowie State student-athletes emphasized the importance of hard work, education and believing in oneself.
"Going to Rockledge finally gave me the opportunity and platform to give back to the youth," said BSU's linebacker and tight end AJ Porter. "The youth feeling understood and having fun doing the task at hand is inspiring."
The event brought together students, teachers and staff for a fun and uplifting experience designed to boost morale and create excitement heading into testing week.
Bowie State football continues to make an impact beyond the field through community outreach efforts focused on mentorship, leadership and inspiring the next generation.
