Hinckley and Carter Highlight Bulldogs in CIAA Weekly Honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – For the first time this season both Keshane Hinckley and Jadon Carter of Bowie State football received selections on the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Football Weekly Honors announced by the league office Monday.

Hinckley was named the CIAA receiver of the week after a game-high 11 receptions for 97-yards performance during the Bulldogs overtime setback to No. 10 Virginia Union Saturday.  Six of the redshirt junior's 11 catches were for first downs, including three third-down catches that moved the chains and his longest reception was 21 yards. The Laurel, Md., native's 11 catches are a career-high.

Carter received his first career CIAA weekly honor as this week's defensive back of the week. The Bryans Road, Md., native recorded game-high and career-high totals of seven solo stops and eight total tackles. The redshirt freshman forced a Panthers' punt with a tackle on 3rd-and-15. Carter also was credited with a pass breakup.

Bowie State improves to 4-3 overall and 3-2 in the CIAA returns to action Saturday, Oct. 15 with a home contest against Chowan for Breast Cancer Awareness. Game time set for 1 p.m. at Bulldog Stadium.
