BOWIE, Md. – Bowie State women's volleyball plays host to Shaw University in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) division action Monday, Oct. 24 inside A.C. Jordan Arena. Admission is free and open to the public.

The Matchup
Shaw owns an 11-5 record against Bowie State since 2008. The Bulldogs lost eight-straight to the Lady Bears including last time out in Raleigh, N.C. where Shaw swept BSU, 3-0 (6-25, 9-25 and 22-25). The last time Bowie State defeated Shaw was in 2014 in a five-set thriller (25-22, 21-25, 24-26, 25-14 and 15-12) in Fayetteville, N.C.

BSU enters Monday's competition with a 9-10 record. The Bulldogs are 5-8 against conference opponents this year, coming off a 3-0 setback to Virginia Union last Thursday on the road. The Bulldogs fell in straight sets 18-25, 21-25 and 24-26.
Graduate senior Jailyn Ivey (Bowie, MD) with 16 kills and 11 digs. Sophomore Regan Amos (Reisterstown, MD) and junior Lindsey Grossman (Albany, OR) both finished with 13 and 11 assists, respectively. Additionally, sophomore Dayanna Robb (Glen Dale, MD) added a career-high nine digs in the effort. Bowie State hit .104 compared VUU's .200, the Panthers held advantages in points (55-35), kills (42-32), aces (9-3), assists (38-30) and total digs (46-41).
Shaw
The Lady Bears are one of the top teams in the CIAA this season. Shaw (14-7) is 10-1 against conference opponents and currently stand in second place amongst the Northern Division (5-1). The Lady Bears are on a two-game win-streak entering Monday's contest. Shaw defeated Virginia State (3-0) and Bluefield State (3-0) over the weekend.
