Women’s Basketball to Wrap Up Regular Season at Elizabeth City State

BOWIE, Md. –  Bowie State women's basketball will travel to Elizabeth City, N.C. to face Elizabeth City State University in their final regular season game for a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) contest on Saturday, February 19.
 
GAME 23 – Bowie State (12-10, 10-5 CIAA, 5-4 North) vs. Elizabeth City State (18-6, 10-5 CIAA, 6-3 North)

About the Bulldogs
Bowie State walked away with a close 65-64 double overtime win at Virginia State Wednesday night inside VSU Multipurpose Center. Freshman Anii Harris (Ellicott City, MD) led the Bulldogs with 16 points, and six rebounds while senior Talanya Hutton (Seat Pleasant, MD) chipped in 14 points, six rebounds and four assists. In the second overtime session, Bowie State trailed by four until sophomore Robyn Howard (Temple Hills, MD) made two free throws, followed by a potential and-1 for freshman Katerra Myers (Burtonsville, MD) – who converted on the 3-point play that secured the win.
The Bulldogs are currently third in the CIAA Northern Division and looking to continue their winning streak before they head to the CIAA Men's and Women's basketball tournament in Baltimore, Md   
Scouting Elizabeth City State
Elizabeth City State fell 73-60 to Virginia Union Wednesday night ending their five-game winning streak. Three players scored in double figures led by Naterria Luster with 14 points and six rebounds. Luster is also the Lady Vikings leading scorer ranking 14th in the CIAA averaging 11.0 points per game. As a team, ECSU ranks fourth in the CIAA for scoring offense averaging 66.1 points per game.
The Series
Saturday marks the second meeting between Bowie State and Elizabeth City State this season. Last time out, the Bulldogs took the 62-61 victory inside A.C. Jordan Arena on Jan. 29. If the Bulldogs win on Saturday, it will be the fourth-straight game won between these two programs.
