BOWIE, Md. – The Bowie State softball team will compete in a series of games this weekend against members of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association (SIAC). The conference challenge will be held in Hampton, Ga. at the Gerald Matthews Complex Friday, Feb. 18 – Sunday, Feb. 20.
Bowie State (2-0) is one of four teams from the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) competing the conference challenge. Other CIAA members include Shaw, Winston-Salem State and Fayetteville State. Institutions from SIAC competing in this weekend's tournament is Benedict, Miles, Clark Atlanta, Tuskegee and Fort Valley State.
The Bulldogs will face Benedict (4-6) Friday at 2 p.m. on Field 2, followed by a single tilt with Miles (1-5) at 4:15 p.m. also on Field 2.
Saturday's games for BSU will begin with a matchup against Clark Atlanta (0-6) at 2:30 p.m. (Field 1) and a nightcap with Tuskegee (Field 3) at 4:45 p.m. On the final day of the challenge, Bowie State and Fort Valley State (2-4) will tangle at 10 a.m.
