BOWIE, Md. – The Bowie State softball program will return to action on Friday, Mar. 18 when the Bulldogs pay a visit to Chestnut Hill in a non-conference doubleheader in Philadelphia, Pa. First pitch is slated for 1 p.m. at the Chestnut Hill softball field.

The Series
Friday's doubleheader will mark the first meeting between Chestnut Hill and Bowie State in program history.
The Bulldogs
Bowie State (5-7-1) is coming off a split with Mansfield last time out. The Bulldogs claimed a 13-9 win in the opener before falling short 2-3 in the nightcap.
Evvie Buelhman (Ellicott City, MD) leads the team in batting average with a .425 and a .625 slugging percentage. Buelhman and Jones both hold a team-high in home runs with two apiece while senior Shanya Gordon (Elkridge, MD) leads the team with 13 RBI.
Buelhman has pitched a team-high 37.1 innings for the Bulldogs, with a 3-3 record. However, freshman Akirra Pullen (Baltimore, MD) has a 2-0 record pitching for BSU, with 4.86 ERA.
Scouting the Griffin
Chestnut Hill welcomes Bowie State to Philly with a 2-10 mark on the season; having lost its last two outings to Shippensburg by the scores of 7-0 and 11-2 on Wedneday (Mar. 16).
Ariana Carreno leads the team with a batting average of .346 with nine hits; four RBI's to go along with four doubles and a home run through the 11 games. Steph Tonuci follows with a batting clip of .308. The Griffin's pitching unit has been led by Madison Petroski with an ERA of 5.00 and 11 strikeouts in 21 innings of work.
