BOWIE, Md. – Bowie State softball will begin conference division play on Sunday, Apr. 3 with a home doubleheader against Lincoln (PA) at 1 p.m. on the beautiful campus of Bowie State University at the BSU Softball Field.

Catching Up with the Bulldogs:
The Bulldogs are coming off a 3-3 weekend at the CIAA round-up held last weekend at Walnut Creek Complex in Raleigh, NC. BSU opened the round up with a dominating 21-4 win over Livingstone but fell 9-6 to Johnson C. Smith to end day one. The following day, Bowie State went 0-2, dropping matchups with both Fayetteville State (9-6) and Claflin (9-1) but the Bulldogs were able to conclude the round up with a pair of much needed wins over Winston-Salem State (10-5) and Saint Augustine's (21-4).
Statistically, freshman Alyssa Cloutier (Derwood, MD) was the offensive spark for the Bulldogs during the round-up. She tallied eight runs on 7-of-14 appearances at the plate and three RBI's including two against JCSU.
The Bulldogs top pitcher is junior Akirra Pullen (Baltimore, MD) with an ERA of .476 and a 2-1 record in three starts and nine appearances. Graduate senior Evelyn Buehlman (Ellicott City, MD) has pitched the most innings for Bowie State with 62.1 innings of work, a team-best 52 strikeouts and a 5-7 overall record in the circle.
The Series
Bowie State Lincoln (PA) will meet for the 14th time since 2012 with the Bulldogs leading the all-time series 11-2 over the Lions. The last meeting occurred on Apr. 6, 2019 with BSU sweeping the LUPA 10-3 and 9-1 in Bowie, Md. Bowie State has won the last 10 matchups against Lincoln (PA).
