BOWIE, Md. – Bowie State softball looks to get on a winning-streak this weekend as the Bulldogs host Bloomsburg and Mansfield this weekend at the BSU Softball Field on the beautiful campus of Bowie State University.

Scouting the Bulldogs:
The Bulldogs (4-4-1) are coming off a pair of setbacks at Division I Howard Wednesday. BSU suffered a 12-0 and 9-1 defeats in Washington, D.C. Although the Bulldogs tallied just one hit in the opener against the Bison's, in the nightcap, BSU registered six hits, highlighted by a homerun from freshman Breanna Harvey () in the second inning.

Graduate senior Evvie Buehlman (Ellicott City, MD) leads the offensive attack with a batting average of .500 with a team-high (14 hits), and nine RBI's. Freshman Saniya Jones (Louisa, VA) and junior Aseyah Alexander (Silver Spring, MD) are second (.467) and third (.368), respectively. In the circle, junior Akirra Pullen (Baltimore, MD) is 2-0 with an ERA of 5.14 in 14 innings of work. She has surrendered 12 runs and eight earned, striking out eight.

The Series
Bowie State and Bloomsburg will meet for the seventh and eighth time; the Bulldogs are 0-6 against the Huskies. The last time these two teams met was during the 2020 season where BSU fell twice 12-2 and 14-0 in Bowie, Md.

Against Mansfield, Bowie State has split the all-time series. The two meetings occurred in 2017 with the first meeting on Mar. 3, with the Mountaineer's earning a 4-2 win over BSU in Raleigh, N.C. The Bulldogs would win the last outing, 4-3 in seven innings in Salem, Va.
