BOWIE, Md. – Bowie State University head football coach Kyle Jackson has announced that walk-on football tryouts will take place on Monday, August 29 at 4 p.m. from Bulldog Stadium.

To participate in tryouts, an individual must be a current Bowie State student enrolled in no less than 15 credit hours this semester and carry at least a 2.0 GPA.

All students interested in participating need to read the following information and complete the required paperwork before the tryout.
 
Eligibility
To be eligible for the tryout, students must complete and provide the following:
 
Medical Requirements

• Complete the Tryout Routing Form. (PDF)
• Complete the Physical Form. (PDF) Physical must be within the last 12 months.
• A copy of your current medical insurance card.
• Provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination or approved exemption from the university.

*All medical documents are to be submitted to the athletic trainers before the close of business 8/26/22. The athletic trainers' office is located in the back of the Leonidas James Physical James Complex.
 
General Requirements

• Provide proof of full-time enrollment, such as a printed class schedule with minimum of 15 credit hours at BOWIE STATE for the current semester. Your daily class schedule must be approved by your perspective event coach(es). If you are invited to join the football team, you may need to alter your class schedule to accommodate training with the team.
• Register with the NCAA Eligibility Center, including certified final amateurism. Click here to obtain this information online. Bowie State is an NCAA Division II membered institution.
• Provide final transcripts from your previous institution(s).
